Welcome to my World

I live on the East Coast of Scotland, nestled beside the silvery Tay - a river that not only flows through my days, but also my imagination. In fact, it inspired the name of one of my central characters, Taye. It's here, between land and water, that the first whispers of The Stones of Destiny trilogy began to form.

For 43 years I dedicated my working life to the public sector - serving people and communities with pride and purpose. Writing, for me, became a joyful escape from that busy world. A place where I could explore magic, memory and mystery. Where the climate itself became a character, and a child born of all four elements might just be the key to saving the Earth. 

This trilogy has been years in the making. What began as a story sparked by a song turned into a journey of three novels - Obsidian, Pearl and Diamond - each threaded with elemental magic and driven by the deep relationship between humanity and nature.

Music has always been close to my heart, and each chapter found its soul through songs. Pairing scenes with tracks was as fulfilling as writing the words themselves.

I've read science fiction and fantasy for most of my life - and eventually, I realised it was time to write my own story. I had no idea it would take quite this long... but I'm thrilled it's complete. That brings me a quiet kind of joy.

I treasure my family and friends deeply, and nothing brings me more pride than being mum to my son Liam, who has grown into a man I admire greatly.

If you're a lover of fantasy fiction, welcome - I think you'll feel at home here. As for this blog, I have no grand plan. I'll share what inspires me, and respond to what resonates with you. Wether that's behind-the-scenes looks at the trilogy, reflections on writing, or thoughts on the themes that echo through the story, we'll find our rhythm together.
